Team GFC Jagraon wins cash prize of Rs. 21, 000 at CT University’s Football Fiesta

Ludhiana, April 27, 2018: A four day football fiesta concluded at CT University’ Sports Complex, Ludhiana in which 32 teams from various villages and clubs competed with each other. Teams from Sadarpura, Halwara, Gagra Football Club, Hissowal, Akhara, Chaukimann Football Club etc. participated with utmost zeal and preparation. The team GFC Jagraon has won the tournament trophy along with the cash prize of Rs. 21,000, followed by team Kothe Rahlan won Runner-Up trophy along with Rs. 11, 000.

The tournament was closed by Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti along with the prestigious presence of Registrar Dr. JS Dhiman, Dean Academics Dr. GS Bakshi, Director Students Affair SS Grewal, HOD Physical Education Dr. Praveen Sharma and HOD School of Law, Dr V.K. Sharma.

On this occasion, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Pro Vice Chancellor, said, “I congratulate the winning teams and also appreciate the sincere efforts of participating teams as they have played quite well. Participation in sports and games help us to balance our personalities and the students can display their stamina and strength. The combination of mind and strength also proves beneficial in the curricular performance”.

The head of the School of Physical Education, Dr. Praveen Sharma, said, “We try to bring out the best from a student through motivating them to participate in sports and extracurricular activities. Such events are need of the hour to make youth powerful.”
