FIRST OF ITS KIND PUNJAB AGRI AND FOOD CONCLAVE ON MAY 16 IN LUDHIANA

-PUNJAB GOVERNMENT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CONFEDERATION OF INDIAN INDUSTRY (CII) AND PUNJAB AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY (PAU), LUDHIANA ARE HOSTING CONCLAVE

-MOU WILL BE SIGNED BETWEEN THE PUNJAB GOVERNMENT AND PAU DURING THIS CONCLAVE

LUDHIANA, May 15, 2018: Punjab Government in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana will be hosting first of its kind Punjab Agri and Food Conclave on at Pal Auditorium, Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) on May 16.

The Minister for Industry and Commerce Sunder Sham Arora will be the chief guest of the function. Food, Civil Supply, and Consumers Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Member of Parliament (MP) Ravneet Singh Bittu will also take part in the conclave as special guests.

Director Industries and commerce department DPS Kharbanda said that various departments of PAU, 20 government agencies, and private companies would also exhibit their products in their stalls. The representatives from various food processing industries including NABI, Verka Ludhiana Dairy, Markfed, Punjab Agro Industries Corporation, Punjab Agro Juices limited and others.

He revealed PAU has established food processing plant at the cost of Rs 15 crore and PAU has developed a lot of techniques in the field of the food sector.

Director also added that PAU will transfer the techniques to the food industry for the growth of food processing sector and a MoU will be signed between the government and PAU during this conclave. The PAU has offered 50 percent rate discount on its existing facilities for the food industry.
