Fake currency seized in Bengal

Kolkata, July 17 (IANS) The Border Security Force (BSF) seized fake Indian currency notes (FICN) of the face value of Rs.9 lakh in West Bengal's Malda district, an official statement said Thursday.

The FICN were seized at the Sasani border outpost on the India-Bangladesh border late Wednesday night.

According to the BSF, the FICNs were wrapped in polythene sheets and thrown by Bangladeshi smugglers into the Indian side over the border fence.

No arrest has been made and the seized notes have been handed over to the local police.
