Faircent makes strategic C-suite appointments; Inducts Chief Risk Officer and Head of Marketing to drive growth

Gurgaon, July 20, 2016, 2016: Faircent.com, India’s largest peer to peer lending marketplace, today announced the appointment of Mr.Shivam Gupta as ‘Chief Risk Officer’ and Mr.Karun Thareja as ‘Head of Marketing’.
The appointments are testimony to the exponential growth India’s leading P2P lending exchange has been witnessing and the aggressive plans they have. Shivam Gupta is an experienced banker with 12 years of experience in risk management across retail and business lending spanning all markets in South East Asia region. In this position he will be responsible for Risk & Risk Analytics, Operations & Collection. Having started his career in India with Standard Chartered Bank, Shivam has been a part of the global risk management team of Standard Chartered Bank based in Singapore for the last 10 years. Apart from extensive knowledge on Retail and Small & Medium enterprises, Shivam brings with him best practices across underwriting, analytics and other areas of risk management and risk operations gained from various developed and emerging economies in South East Asia. He did his BE from Delhi College of Engineering & MBA in Finance & Strategy from IIM, Lucknow in 2004. Shivam is fond of cooking & is a keen traveler.

Karun is a B.E. (Electronics) from Delhi College of Engineering (’94) and M.B.A. from F.M.S., Delhi University (’96). His key forte is taking businesses down the route of exponential growth and has demonstrated the same in his previous assignments at both start-ups and global market share leaders. His extensive experience in Marketing, Sales and Business Management spans more than 20 years. His domain expertise includes Analytics, Enterprise Systems, Contact Center Management and Process Management. He was last part of the leadership at an analytics startup called WyzMindz. In his prior roles he has led multi-fold growth in business units at companies like IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Dassault Systemes and NIIT.
