Extension Lecture on Plants and Society being held at KMV, Jalandhar on Tuesday.
Jalandhar, October 20, 2015: Under the DBT Star College Scheme, Dept of Botany at KMV organised an extension lecture on the topic ‘Plants and Society’. The lecture was delivered Prof.(Dr.) Saroj Arora, in Botany department at GNDU, Amritsar. Dr.Arora in her lecture elaborated on the inseparable link between plants and animals on our Planet Earth. She traced how on Earth every life form was directly or indirectly linked and interdependent. She further illustrated how the very existence of mankind depended upon the plant life around it and so it was imperative for us to save and support it. She advised living in harmony with nature is an essential feature for a healthy, happy and sustainable survival. (Dr.) Prof. Mrs. Atima Sharma Dwivedi also graced the occasion with her benign presence and emphasized the need of saving and conserving the flora in and around our dwellings. Others present on the occasion were Mrs. Sadhana Tandon, Dr. Savita Mehta, Ms. Rishu, Ms. Priyanka, Ms. Swati, Ms. Sonam and Ms. Madhavi.
