Chandigarh, July 23, 2013:Patiala Court has convicted Ex-Head of the government senior school of Village Harpalpur of Tehsil Rajpura for misusing DDO powers & fraud in funds. He has been sentenced two years of imprisonment and fined Rs. 10,000.
Disclosing this information Vigilance Bureau Punjab spokesman said that Vigilance police registered a case against the convicted principal under corruption prevention Act under 13(1) D, 13 (2) 88 and 409 and 120 B of 9 PC in the year 2008. He said that Patiala Court special Judge Mr. NPS Gill gave this judgment. He said that Amarjit Singh as principal of Government School drew Rs. 3 lac from GPF on March 13, 2002 misusing his DDO powers. He added that Principal again after making alteration on the earlier permission allotted to with draw GPF again drew Rs 3 lac by making fake bill and committed a fraud with government. After that vigilance Patiala verified all the matter and registered the case.
