Englishmen and Danish eves enters semifinal in 5th world kabaddi cup
Mehta Chowk (Amritsar), December 17, 2014: The league matches for 5th World Kabaddi Cup today concluded with the matches played here today at Shaheed Captain Manjinder Singh Bhinder Stadium. The Adams of India, England and Pakistan and in Eves India, Pakistan, New Zealand and Denmark got their entry into Semifinals.
In the men league matches played today, Pakistan with its fifth victory and England with its 4thvictory got entry for semifinals. Canada team failed to enter semifinal despite registering 3rd victory. In the women league matches, Denmark got entry into semifinals with its 2nd victory whereas England said its goodbye with its maiden victory.
Anil Joshi marked the day as Chief Guest. He thanked the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for organising league matches at Mehta Chowk. He said that these were efforts of Punjab government that now Kabaddi has been known worldwide. He also honored Gurnam Kaur mother of Shaheed Captain Manjinder Singh Bhinder.
Prominent amongst others, Baljit Singh Jalalusma, MLA, Veer Singh Lopoke, Chairman District planning board and former minister Capt Balbir Singh Bath were also present on the occasion.
As per final results of league matches for men, England defeated Denmark by 44-21, Canada defeated Sweden by 42-16, Pakistan defeated Argentina by 45-20 .In women, England defeated Mexico by 38-27 and Denmark defeated America by 44-32.
