Each and Every citizen of society can save energy: Er. Baldev Singh Sran

Ludhiana, December 14, 2018: Each and Every citizen of the society can save energy by eliminating unnecessary use of home appliances or other electrical gargets used in day to day life and can play a major role for energy conservation for the state, this was stated by Er.Baldev Singh Sran, CMD PSPCL while addressing the state Level Energy Conservation Day function.
Er.Sran said that electricity is a basic key input for the economic development of any society so it is the moral duty of all citizens to save energy for a bright and progressive future for coming generation' PSPCL and Punjab Energy Development Agency has organised State Level Energy Conservation Day function here today.
The Energy Conservation Day is organized on 14th December every year by Bureau of Energy Efficiency , under Ministry of Power with an aim to demonstrate lndia's achievements in energy efficiency and conservation, while working for its ambition of holistic development as part of the nation's overall effort towards climate change mitigation' Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) being the state Designated Agency (SDA) for implementation of Energy conservation Act - 2001 has taken various initiatives for promotion and development of energy conservation & efficiency in different sectors of the economy such as industry, commercial, agricultural, domestic and implemented various demo projects in these areas for achieving savings in energy consumption under the guidelines of Bureau of Energy Efficiency , Ministry of Power, Government of lndia. In Punjab, PEDA has initiated various activities in different sectors of the economy such as energy efficiency in Building, Municipal, commercial, Agricultural and domestic sectors including demo project in these sector.
On the occasion speakers of PSPCL and PEDA, highlighted the need and importance of conserving of energy for saving the environment by reducing the carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions by Fossil Fuel based plants and curtailing the Radio Active Pollution by Nuclear Plants .
On this occasion students of 7 schools of Ludhiana participated in the seminar through speeches, Skits and poster making competitions were organised regarding energy conservation. Best speakers among the students were awarded on the occasion.
Er. O.P. Garg Director Commercial, Sh.Navjotpal Singh Randhawa PCS Chief Executive PEDA were the special guests on the occasion.
Er. Daljit lnderpal Singh Grewal Chief Engineer Operation Central zone thanked the Chief Guest and other special guests for sparing their valuable time for the function.
