District Level Workshop on government sponsored schemes conducted by NABARD

Kapurthala, September 29, 2017: NABARD is giving lot of importance to the issues related to the government sponsored programmes being administered by it. A workshop was organised by NABARD on 29 September 2017 in Kapurthala for the bankers and various government departments to sensitise them about various issues relating to government Sponsored schemes with special focus on Dairy Entrepreneurship Development, National Livestock Mission, agri clinic and agri business centre and National Programme on Organic Farming. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Arun Sharma, Chairman, Punjab Gramin Bank. In his address to the participants, he emphasized that there is a lot of scope for establishment of Dairy units in Kapurthala.

While speaking on the subject in workshop, Shri Rakesh, DDM, NABARD, Kapurthala, sensitised the Branch Managers/ representatives of line department, farmers and other stakeholders towards various aspects of government sponsored schemes like subsidy available under these schemes. The special stress was given for issues related to Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme to the farmers so that with allied activities their income may be doubled. The scheme benefits and details were elaborated in the workshop.

Dr.Manoj Kumar Sharma,Dy.Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kapurthala, who was present on the occasion, guided the participants for making all out efforts for achieving the objectives of these schemes. Shri Paramjit Singh, Director, RSETI also interacted with the participants and shared regarding training programmes. The Branch Managers/bank officers from Punjab Gramin Bank, Kapurthala CCB, representatives from ISAP, line departments, representative from MANAGE participated in the workshop. The inputs given in the workshop were beneficial for the participants.

On this occasion Shri Rajiv Sharma, District Manager, KCCB, Shri Devinder Singh, Dairy Development Department, shri Ravinder Singh, Poultry Inspection, Shri Anuj Sood from MANAGE, shri Paramjit Singh, Progressive Farmer and other farmers were also present in the workshop.
