Shimla, December 18, 2016: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today dedicated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs 17 crore in Kangra district ahead of the Vidhan Sabha Winter Session to be held at Dharamshala.
Addressing a public meeting at Majheen Chief Minister said that development of backward and far flung areas was the top most priority of the government. Connectivity and expansion of the road network, educational institutions and creation of health facilities was focus of his government so that they were at par in matter of facilities with any other urban area.
He said two new colleges had been opened in Changar area of Jawalamukhi constituency where enrollment of girls reflected that these institutions had benefitted girls as they were getting higher educational facilities nearer to their homes.
He expressed happiness that the number of students had increased in Government College Khudian and said that science classes would be started in the college with the increase in number of students.
Chief Minister said that the local MLA of the area Shri Sanjay Rattan was like a committed warrior and was ensuring welfare of the area. He said that all genuine demands of the MLA would be fulfilled to ensure development of the area.
He directed the concerned authorities to complete construction of work of college building with three shifts so that it could be completed within one-third time. He sanctioned construction of three kilometer road from Dabkad Chowki. He also announced Rs 15000 for the students presenting cultural programme on the occasion. He also released the school magazine on the occasion.
Shri Sanjay Rattan MLA of Jawalamukhi speaking on the occasion said that the area had witnessed unprecedented development during the last four years. He said that three degree colleges were opened and 60 schools upgraded in Jawalamukhi constituency during the last four years.
He said that it was due to the benevolence of the Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh that Jawalamukhi constituency which had no college four year ago, today has three degree college, which speaks of the commitment of the State Government. He said that the area was completely neglected during the tenure of the previous government.
Chief Minister laid foundation stone of additional accommodations of Senior Secondary School Building Sihorbala and Government Senior School Nahlian to be constructed at a cost of Rs one crore each. He also inaugurated recently upgraded Veterinary Hospital Building at Majheen. He also inaugurated the newly opened Sub Tehsil at Majheen
Chief Minister laid foundation stone of Science Block of Senior Secondary School Majheen to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.12 crore. He also laid foundation stone of building of Government Degree College Majheen to be constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
Shri Virbhadra Singh inaugurated Lift Water Supply Scheme at Luthan Sudhangal constructed at a cost of Rs 1.62 crore. He laid foundation stone of Rs 3.60 crore Lift water Supply scheme Kamlota-Kohala and Rs 2.60 crore Baroli Irrigation scheme.
Vice Chairman Freedom Fighters Welfare Board Shri Sushil Rattan, Chairman HP School Education Board Shri Balbir Tegta, Chairman Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Shri Jagdish Sapahiya, Chairman APMC Hamirpur Shri Prem Kaushal, Deputy Commissioner C.P Verma, Superintendent Police Shri Sanjay Gandhi were present on the occasion among others.
