DC dismisses Ferozepur Cantt Kanoongo in land record fraud case worth Rs.1.11 crore

Ferozepur, August 31, 2019: Taking a stern action against the government official responsible for serious dereliction of duty, the deputy commissioner Chander Gaind has dismissed kanoongo of Ferozepur Cantt area Balkar Singh in a land record fraud case worth Rs.1,11,08,236. In his orders the deputy commissioner also mentioned that the kanoongo will not be able to do government service in any other department.

Divulging more, Gaind said that the action has been taken on the basis of an investigation of a complaint done by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), which was filed by 136 battalion of BSF against the Kannongo Balkar Singh. A fraud in the revenue record of patwar circle of Palla Megha was detected while the Kannongo was posted there as Halqa Patwari, said the inquiry report.

Gaind said that during investigation, serious tempering in the revenue record was found during the tenure of patwari Balkar Singh (now kannongo) in order to make his brother-in-law and another outsider owner of land measuring 46 Kanals. Doing this act the award for compensation of above mentioned land worth Rs.1,11,08,236 was given to tow persons as one of which was the brother-in-law of the Kanoongo.
