Ferozepur, August 2, 2013: Taking a serious note of the news published few days back in the media about the spread of cancer like disease due to polluted drain water in village Alipur, Manjit Singh Narang, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, has constituted a four member committee under the supervision of Mukand Singh Sandhu, SDM, Zira, to investigate into the facts.
Deputy Commissioner said, “The chairman of the committee will be SDM Zira and SMO Zira, Executive Engineer, Golewala Water Supply Circle and Executive Engineer, Water Supply and Sanitation Circle-2, Ferozepur as its members”.
He further said, “The committee will submit its final report within a week after visiting the village and taking the medical tests of the villagers and water samples and in case any discrepancy is notice, the committee will also give its suggestions so that a solution is worked out for this problem in future”.
