Ludhiana, October 6, 2015: “Be sure of your entrepreneurial decision, don’t Leave it to chance”, said Mr.Manjeet Singh Jaggi, Senior Manager, P&S Bank and Cluster Manager for implementing government schemes in Ludhiana district during the second day of ‘Entrepreneurship Awareness Program’ in association with Regional centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Chandigarh and Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India organized at Gujranwala Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines here today.

 Prof. Manjit Singh Chabbra, Co-ordinator, GGNIMT welcomed the esteemed guests and experts on the occasion.

 Mr. Jaggi guided the students to identify their skill and nurture it into a venture. He said entrepreneurial decisions should be a result of a rigorously planned strategy. He dealt in detail with the various loans and subsidy schemes offered by the banks all across the country.”Setting up a business could be a daunting experience if initiated without requisite information elicitation and planning” said Mr. Jaggi while giving details on how to go about setting up a venture.

The second part of the session included expert talk by Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Rekhi, Senior Project Manager, DIC. Mr. Rekhi elaborated on the various Acts available for the proper governance of entrepreneurship. He discussed in detail the provisions of MSME Development Act 2006. He highlighted the guidelines of EM part I and Part II. He motivated the students to seek expert advice for venturing into a business through specific website such as Indiarun.gov.in. He further encouraged them to acquire necessary skills to successfully run the business. He listed the websites (dcmsme.gov.in) that included the details of various technical training institutes suitable for the same.

S.S Dhillon, Former Director , Ministry of MSME deliberated on the topic: “ Techno- Economic commercial feasibility”.  He motivated the students to take initiatives and prepare comprehensive project reports  to aid project funding and resource acquisition. He also guided the students on  effective formulation of strategies and  project appraisals. He advised the budding entrepreneurs to plan and estimate the optimal production capacity and acquire the requisite resources accordingly.

The session concluded with the question answer round where the students cleared all their doubts.
