CT University organises ‘Meet Your Mentors’ for its research scholars
September 12, 2018: CT University (CTU) organised one of its first kind event ‘Meet Your Mentors’ at the campus for the candidates enrolled for various PhD programmes. The programme focused on interaction of Research Scholars with their mentors. The event was graced by CTU dignitaries Charanjit Singh Channi, Chancellor; Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor (VC); Dr Jagtar Singh Dhiman, Registrar; Dr Gursharan Singh Kalra, Director (Shahpur Campus); Dr Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Director (Maqsudan Campus). The Guest of Honour was Ahsan Ul Haq, President, JMA. The details of rules and regulations for pursuing PhD under CTU were discussed. Giving details, the Coordinator of Doctoral Research, Dr Sachit Vardhan said that CTU provides PhD degree programmes in 33 subjects under the mentorship of 50 PhDs guides. The Meet your Mentors programme was organised for the scholars to interact with their mentors and discuss the future perspectives of the research, he said. Dr Jagtar Singh Dhiman, Registrar, encouraging the audience, said, “It is commonly said that once begun is half done, so the scholars must be motivated by oneself to put all the efforts in their research. The scholars can choose realistic problems that focus on the growth and development of not just oneself but also the Nation. One must learn to nurture their philosophy while pursuing their Doctor of Philosophy programmes. Addressing the spectators Dr Harsh Sadawarti, VC, welcomed the scholars and congratulated them for now being addressed as Research Scholars also added that they must choose a need-based path towards their research. CTU has zero tolerance for research ethics violence, he remarked adding that the students must open up their horizons and must lead an ethical research.
