Students of CT Public School, Jalandhar on Tuesday raise AIDS awareness through art.

Jalandhar, December 1, 2015: On World AIDS Day, December 1, activities around the globe are aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. While talking about the disease is often difficult, CT Public School, the organizer of an outreach event made it easier through art.
As many as 50 students participated in the painting event and many take advantage of the educational offerings and HIV testing at the premises of CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan Campus. Students participated in face painting and poster making event, they also formulated human chain to raise AIDS awareness through art and an act of Unity.
Students raised the message of informing one and another against this disease, as they said that hat such programmes help in creating awareness on the disease and assist infected persons to lead a normal life.
The awareness session was also addressed by students. They informed that ignoring symptoms such as consistent loose motions, weight loss, cough, common cold, etc. could further deteriorate a person's health. If AIDS symptoms are detected; one should go for tests immediately. If the results are found to be HIV+, the patient should start treatment immediately. Even the Facts related to the disease such as prime causes and how it decreased a person's immunity leading to his death were discussed during the awareness session.
Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) said, “The event would have a positive impact on students, citing one occasion where the awareness has been raised against its cause, precautions and treatment.” He informed, “On this day people come together to show solidarity for those people living with HIV, it was first identified in the year 1984. On this day, people observe solidarity and have a hope for a better future for people worldwide fight against HIV. The day is celebrated on the last month of each year, when people unite to show their support for people with HIV.”
