International Kobudo expert gives self defense lessons to CTPS girls

Jalandhar, December 12, 2018: Keeping in mind the safety of girls, CT Public School conducted a Self defense workshop in which an international black belt holder, Hanshi Alain Sailly, Vice President of World Kobudo Federation (WKF) gave many safety tips to the girl students of the school. He was accompanied with Pradeep Sharma, COO, Sanjay Karate academy.

The objective of the workshop was to educate girls in preventive and curative counter protective measures that can be taken in life threatening situations.

Sailly explained the meaning of self defense and its importance. He emphasized on the need for awareness and to educate the girls how to avoid problematic situations. The girls of classes VI to XII participated in the workshop where various techniques of self defense were taught.

Apprising the students about the importance of self defense, Sailly said that one needs to tap one’s physical strength and learn to respond; not react. He motivated the girls to speak up about such crimes and gave them tips about what to do if they are trapped in an undesirable situation. He also gave a demonstration of different fighting techniques in real life scenarios.

Appreciating the efforts by the expert, Vice Principal Sukhdeep Kaur said that such workshops are very useful for the girls and are need of the hour. We must teach our students to learn martial arts and focus on the need for girls to learn the art of self defense.
