Ludhiana, May 14, 2016: With the intent of Corporate Social Responsibility, CT Group of Institutions organised ‘Eye Check-up Camp’ at Upcoming CT University campus premises in association with Sankara Eye Hospital.

Ophthalmologists Dr. Madhvi Sharma along with a team of technicians and supporting staff from CT Group examined more than 500 residents from around 30 local villages. A contingent of 05 Team Members comprising of doctors and technicians from Sankara Eye Hospital & CT Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CTIPS) contributed effectively to Eye and Vision problems in children, counseled them and advised for proper diet, care and medication.

Periodic eye and vision examinations are an important part of preventive health care. Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms. As a result, individuals are often unaware about the problems exist. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems are important for maintaining good vision and eye health, helps in preventing vision loss.

Mr. Binny John Abraham (CEO, Sankara Hospital, Ludhiana) said, “Children get their first comprehensive eye examination while starting school, even if they are not experiencing symptoms and don't show any outward signs of not seeing well. A child may not complain about poor vision, but at such a young age they may not realize that they're not seeing well at a distance or up close, or that their eyes are not working well together. Eye is an important organ and people must pay attention to keeping it in good condition. They must recognise eye problem at its early stage and immediately attend free eye camp and get treated. Early detection would prevent further damages to eyes.”

Sharing the views S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) said, “In line with our commitment to ‘Health for All’ CT Group of Institutions is organizing a regular program for heath awareness in the form of health camps with different specialties which apart from providing solutions, focus on information dissemination and preventive healthcare practices. The country can grow when the masses are healthy, especially the Children. So keeping the aim to make people healthy the strides are being put by our organization. Recently we had organized the Health Awareness Camp, Eye Camp, Blood Donation, de-addiction & Anemia Detection Camps. In future we shall keep on expediting.” He further said, “The CT University will have internationally benchmarked curriculum, innovative teaching practises, experimental learning, and foreign tie-ups for equitable and affordable quality education that will establish itself as a Centre of Excellence in Research. He said, “CT University is a dream project of CT Group that gives us a platform to present International Stature academic facilities and benefits to the students.”
