Ludhiana, May 5, 2018: It is time the toiling masses unite to fight not only for their rights but also come forward to save the country from the forces of social disintegration, communalism, castiesm, injustice and subjugation. They have also to meet up to the challenge to save the world from nuclear catastrophe and climatic changes which threaten the very existence of mankind today. This was stated by various speakers while speaking at the seminar organized by the Communist Party of India Ludhiana unit today to commemorate the 200th birth day of great philosopher Karl Marx, the architect of workers struggles and author of the Communist Manifesto. Marx had conceptualized that vast majority the problems of the people were not a result of any divine power but a result of exploitation of man by man, therefore the toiling masses have to struggle for their emancipation. Relating the events to Marxism the speakers said that today 99% of world’s total wealth is held by 1% population. This has deprived large sections of their basic needs, particularly in the developing countries. In our country workers’ rights are being continuously curtailed and the new upcoming bills will hit the workers hard in the time to come. The present government at the Centre is all out for the uplift of the corporate and crush the workers, peasants and middle classes. Having failed to fulfill the promises they are now out to destabilize the society on communal and caste lines. This is very dangerous which the toiling people have to understand.
Those who addressed the seminar include Comrades D P Maur-district secretary of the party, Dr Arun Mitra & Chamkaur Singh-Asstt Secretaries, Ramesh Rattan- City secretary, M S Bhatia-Finance Secretary, Gulzar Goria, Gurnam Sidhu, Vijay Kumar,Charan Sarabha, Kewal Singh Banwait, Mewa Singh, Jagdish Rai Bobby, Ram Partap, Kameshwer Yadav, Avtar Gill, Surinder Singh Jaladiwal and Sanjeev Kumar.
