COMMISSIONER OF POLICE ISSUES BAN ORDERS
Ludhiana, May 6, 2019: Commissioner of Police Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, while exercising his powers under section 144 of CrPC, has banned the carrying of sand in open in vehicles. He has ordered that sand should be properly covered by them otherwise it can cause mishaps. Exercising the powers vested under Section 144, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, the Commissioner of Police Ludhiana has also banned the sale of helmets without ISI mark. He said that the helmets without ISI mark often break in case of an accident, which leads to injury to the motorist. Besides this, the Commissioner of Police has also banned the use of commercial vehicles including three wheelers, four wheelers or more, for ferrying passengers/people. He said that sometimes such vehicles are used to ferry people, which is illegal and is a violation of the motor vehicle act. He said that it can prove harmful to people as well. In the orders issued here, the commissioner of police has said that the orders would be in force for next two months.
