Ludhiana, July 13, 2018: As part of comprehensive cancer care, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, has pioneered in establishinga laboratory for molecular testing by FISH. This technique has diverse applications like diagnosis of blood cancer, breast cancer, lymphomas, etc. The test is also requiredfor some bone marrow transplant patients.
Dr NaliniCalton, who heads the department of Pathology, commented that the project was conceived 2 years ago and has been successfully completed through untiringconcertedefforts of a team led by Dr.K.S Kwatra, associate professor at Department of Pathology. The diagnostic facility developed at CMC is at par with global standards.
Dr William Bhatti, Director of CMC, mentioned that CMC is the first Medical institution in Punjab to have established this facility and it will go a long way in serving the people of Punjab and neighbouring states.
