Chandigarh, December 5, 2015: Punjab Chief Minister Mr.Parkash Singh Badal today assured the delegation of Goindwal Industrial Development Association (GIDA) that the state government would accord the top most priority to the overall development and infrastructure growth in this prime industrial estate.
This assurance was given by Mr.Badal to the delegation of GIDA led by its Chairman Mr.Gurinder Pal Singh Sandhu here at CMR this morning.
Responding to the issues raised by the representatives of the association, the Chief Minister directed the MD PSIEC to permit the Industrial plot holders of up to 8000 sq. yards to deposit the balance amount at the rate of 10% simple interest. It may be mentioned here that only few plot holders had availed this facility as this benefit was only limited to the plots of 500/1000 sq. yards.
The Chief Minister also acceded to another demand of association for giving more incentives and concessions to the industrialists of GIDA on the pattern of existing industrial units in the states. He therefore asked the PSIEC to refer this case to the Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal so that a final call could be taken on this matter.
Allowing the facility of housing to the owners of industrial units in Goindwal Sahib alike other industrial estates in the state, the Chief Minister asked the GM PSIEC to take up this issue with the Chief Town & Country Planner.
The Chief Minister also asked the PSIEC to immediately process the pending cases for the release of already sanctioned subsidies to the industrialists of Goindwal Sahib. It was apprised in the meeting that the process was already underway to finalize the seniority of these beneficiaries and the subsidy would be released by 31st March, 2016.
Realizing the hardships faced by the owners of these units, the Chief Minister asked the CMD PSPCL to immediately set up a special counter of Powercom at Goindwal Sahib manned by a Junior Engineer to facilitate them for their day-to-day works as now they had to go to Khadoor Sahib to get their works done.
The Chief Minister pointed out that with the setting up of Rs 250 Crore ultra modern paint unit by Kansai Nerolac Paint Limited over an area of 35 acres, and Rs.100 crore LPG Bottling Plant by Indian Oil Corporation over an area of 30 acres, at Industrial Complex Goindwal Sahib would surely give impetus to the local industry with several ancillary units coming up around the industrial estate.
Prominent amongst who were present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. SK Sandhu, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. KJS Cheema, MD PSIEC Mr. Amit Dhaka and GM PSIEC Mr. SP Singh.
