Chandigarh, May 4, 2015: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today nominated the former MLA and ex-Chief Parliamentary Secretary Jagdeep Singh Nakai as the Chairperson of the Punjab District Planning Committee, Bathinda besides appointing two Chairmen, three Vice-Chairmen and 11 Directors on the Board of Directors of the various Boards and Corporations in the State.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Badal cleared the file for the nomination of Nakai as Chairperson of the Punjab District Planning Committee, Bathinda under the Clause 3 sub-clause (3) of The Punjab District Planning Committee Act, 2005.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also gave nod to appoint Upkar Singh Sandhu and Om Parkash Kamboj as the Chairman of Punjab Energy Development Agency and Punjab Backward Classes Land Development & Finance Corporation (PBCLDFC).
Likewise, Ashok Aneja, Bhagirath Singh and Vinarjeet Singh Goldy have been appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the Punjab Agro Industries Corporation, Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation and Pepsu Road Transport Corporation respectively.
Similarly, the Chief Minister also appointed Surinder Singh Grewal and Rajpal Singh Chauhan as Directors on the Board of Directors (BoDs) of Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation and Punjab State Industries Export Corporation respectively. Gurdial Singh Nijjar and Gurdev Singh Lali have been appointed as Directors on the BoD of Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC). Dr. Jaswinder Singh and Rajwant Singh Malha have been appointed as Directors on the BoDs of Punjab State Forests Development Corporation Limited and Punjab Khadi & Village Industry Board respectively.
Badal also cleared the appointments of Atam Ram Kamboj as the Director on the BoD of Punjab State Warehousing Corporation. Likewise, Ranjit Singh Nikkra and Bhupinder Singh Saifdipur have been appointed as Directors on the BoD of Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation. Similarly, Harjit Singh and Gurbachan Singh have also been appointed as Directors on the BoD of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation. Formal orders with regard to these appointments would be issued by the concerned departments in due course of time after the completion of necessary procedure.
