Shimla, September 23, 2017: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh dedicated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 35 crores in Sundernagar and Nachan areas of district Mandi online from HP Secretariat Shimla today.

Chief Minister said that socio-economic development of the State has always been the focus of development of Congress Government in the State. He said that the State Government during its present tenure ensured all round growth of the State which was well indicated in the growth parameters at State and national levels.

He said every part of the State has scope for tourist attraction which can be fully explored with public's cooperation in maintaining civic amenities and cleanliness at all public places and destinations of tourist interest.

He said Rs. 4.46 crore 'Smart Underground Dustbin Scheme' launched at Sundernagar will lead to a new concept in cleanliness especially towns and cities. He urged people to help in maintaining and enhancing beauty of hills through cleanliness. 40 such dustbins will be placed in 13 wards at Sundernagar in the first phase.

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that the Suket Shopping Complex, an initiative of his earlier tenure has matured and will create new job opportunities and facilities for residents of Sundernagar. The complex besides having a multipurpose hall houses Yatri Niwas that will provide staying facility to visitors coming to Sundernagar. The complex constructed with a cost of Rs. 2.31 crore has provision of 74 shops and a restaurant.

Chief Minister laid foundation stone of Rs. 20.29 crore motorable bridge over river Satluj connecting Dhawal (Slapper Tattapani with Slapper) linking district Bilaspur with district Mandi. It will benefit five panchayats of Mandi district and three of Bilaspur district.

He also laid foundation stone of Rs. five crore building of Government Degree College Dehar and announced starting of classes for the college.

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Sohan Lal while welcoming the Chief Minister said that the Chief Minister gave four developmental gifts to Sundernagar which will prove milestones in development of the area.

For Nachan Assembly constituency in Mandi district, Chief Minister inaugurated Rs. 1.49 crore bridge over Khandel-Nandi road and Rs. 1.55 crore Sianj bridge on Sianj Bara road at Khyod . He also laid foundations stone of Rs. 36.50 lakh additional accommodation of Government Senior Secondary School Jahal at Khyod.

The Nandi bridge will benefit a population of 10000 persons in five panchayats in the area. The panchayats are Tandi, Nandi, Daran, Sarwa and Sianj. The Sianj bridge will benefit a population of 7000 persons of Sianj, Bara and Parabara panchayats.

Former MLA Shri Tek Chand welcomed the Chief Minister and said that credit of development of Nachan constituency goes to Shri Virbhadra Singh who gave priority to development of this constituency.
