CM condoles death of Jathedar Ujjagar Singh Chhapa

Chandigarh, August 24, 2014: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of senior Akali leader Jathedar Ujjagar Singh Chhapa who passed away on Sunday evening at his residence in Ludhiana after brief illness. He was 80 and survived by two sons and one daughter.   

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister described Jathedar Chappa as a noble soul committed to the Akali Dal and have contributed a lot for party in every struggle. Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family, Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, President Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Information and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia also mourned the passing away of Jathedar Chappa.
