Ludhiana, December 1, 2015: To discuss various pollution related issues, CII Ludhiana Zonal Council organised an Interaction of top level industrial representatives with Mr.Manpreet Singh, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board at Ludhiana. The objective of the interaction was to address various pollution related issues faced at both domestic & industrial front and to work out a way so that such issues can be address on priority for a positive result.
While interacting with present delegates during the session Mr.Manpreet Singh, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board said that, “Pollution is one of the major issues in Punjab, and our department treats both industrial & domestic pollution issues on priority to spread awareness among various stakeholders. Also due to higher levels of both air & water pollution in our state, we are losing our natural resources on a rapid pace and it is also hampering the Industrial growth in our state to some extent. Depleting water level and degraded quality of ground water are the major concerned areas and need sincere attention from all the stakeholders of society. Such factors, if not taken into account today, will have a major detrimental effect on the overall geography of our state in the times to come”.
Mr. Neeraj Satija, Chairman, CII Ludhiana said that the objective of today’s meet was to interact with Pollution Board Officials was to discuss certain important issues and to workout possibilities of working jointly with industry to get positive outcomes on pollution related issues and this will surely help the Pollution Department in its working and to get a positive outcome.
The session was well attended by top level industrialists and various Presidents from prominent industrial associations from Ludhiana.
