Chandigarh, December 11, 2015: The employees of Federal Bank have joined hands to bring relief to the hapless victims of the Chennai deluge. On the days when the city was still reeling in the aftermath of the unprecedented floods, a team of Federals in Chennai braving the waters dared to visit the affected places and offered assistance to the victims. When drinking water was a rarity and milk was a luxury, the Bank team went around the devastated areas and distributed food, water, milk, medicines, blankets and other essential articles.
The Federals organized a Medical Camp for the flood victims living in the Kuvam river bank, at Indian Apostolic Church premises, Aminjikarai, yesterday. The Camp was supported by a team of three doctors and 5 nurses from Billrorth Hospitals, Aminjikarai, Chennai under the guidance of Dr. Rajendran. Shri Thampy Kurian, General Manager & HR Head of the Bank visited the medical camp and distributed bed sheets and other essential articles to the victims. A team of executives and staff members headed by Shri Srinivasan K, DGM &Zonal Head, Chennai, were in action at the campsite.
Besides, the Bank has collected dresses and other essentials from Federals at Head Office/Aluva and Ernakulam, which will be distributed in the coming days. The Bank has also taken measures to bring comfort to the employees of the Bank by declaring Flood Relief Loans and essential leave facilities. All the branches of Federal Bank in Chennai and its suburbs functioned last Sunday.
