Ludhiana, March 5, 2015: Avtar Singh President CICU in a statement issued today said that industry is passing through a very difficult phase due to shortage of orders. At the same time, Central Government has made it mandatory for Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) to source 20% of their total procurement from Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) only.
Upkar Singh Ahuja General Secretary CICU said that to help industry, our Chamber has organised Vendor Development Programme in Association with MSME DI Ludhiana for Engineering India Limited at CICU Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana.
Rajeev Kumar, Deputy General Manager Procurement & Development Department Engineers India Limited (EIU) gave detailed presentation regarding procedure for making vendors for procurement of components especially from Forging, Casting and Fabrication units. S.B. Singh Publicity Secretary CICU explained the benefits of becoming suppliers of Engineers India Limited. Kamal Singh Deputy Director, Kundan Lal Assistant Director and R K Parmar Assistant Director MSME DI Ludhiana participated in this programme. Owners and representatives from more than 30 industrial units namely Indshox Pvt. Ltd, Amar Auto, Citizen Press Components, Kharey Products, Nicks India, Texlene Forge, Asian Fabricators, interacted and sought clarifications for becoming vendors.
