Ludhiana, March 18, 2015: Avtar Singh, President and Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana in a statement today gave their comments on Punjab Budget 2015-16 as under:
? The demand of the Industry for providing Rs.500 Crores for establishment of Exhibition Centres & Trade Promotion has not been considered.
? Another demand of Industry for allocating Rs.500 Crores for repair and maintenance of Industrial Areas, especially; Focal Point, which is causing concerned has not been acceded to.
? Launching of Interest Subvention Scheme for Entrepreneurship Development Program with allocation of Rs.100 Crores is appreciable.
? Setting up Punjab Skill Development Mission in line with National Skill Development Policy, 2009 & establishment of Multi Skill Development Centre in collaboration with NSDC one each a District Head Quarters ITI with the first one being set up at ITI, Ludhiana at cost of Rs, 7.50 Crores, is a welcome gesture.
? Ear marking Rs. 200 Crores for Skill Training Centres, 2000 Centres for Women & 500 Centres for Men across rural areas in the State to improve employability and rural Entrepreneurship is recognisable.
