Ludhiana, September 4, 2015: The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and its collaborating partners Development Environergy Services Limited (DESL) in association with Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) today organized programme on Providing Project Development Support for Enhancement of Energy Efficiency in MSME Industries.
Sh. Avtar Singh, President CICU said that Energy efficiency is associated with capital productivity and includes technological, behavioral and economic changes. Industries have started realizing and adopting efficient practices of energy use. Efficient use of energy, sometimes simply called ‘energy efficiency’, is using less energy to provide the same level of output. It is noted that improving energy efficiency has many benefits, like lowering energy bills, increasing our energy independence in the long run, reducing air and water pollution that leads to cutting carbon emissions that cause global warming.
S/Sh. Sparno Majumdar, Consultant, Nisha Menon, Principal Consultant, Prabhat Sharma, Project Analyst from DESL gave their presentation highlighting information on EE &CP measures applicable to Engineering, Auto & other Industrial Sectors. They shared their valuable experiences and best practices through case studies. The participants were apprised in detail for adoption of Energy Efficiency measures and the features of the innovative cleaner technologies through interactions with the equipment manufacturers and service providers. Sh. Varun Mittal, Director, Kudu Knit Process Pvt. Ltd. also shared his experience on the benefits of energy efficiency.
Sh. Rajiv Kumar Deputy General Manager SIDBI New Delhi gave presentation to promote Energy Efficiency in MSME Units in Ludhiana Cluster. Sh. Sachin Kumar Verma, Senior Energy Efficiency Expert (SIDBI-WB-GEF Project) Energy Efficiency Centre (EEC), New Delhi informed that MSME can now avail incentives-attractive loan or grant from SIDBI under WB-GEF Project. Additional incentives @15-20% of investment as performance linked grant which is over and above Government subsidies up to maximum of Rs. 10 lacs per MSME Unit or upto 2.5% interest subsidies under revolving fund scheme (Over and Above Incentivizes under TEQUP). Loan with maximum of Rs.150 Lacs can be availed under this scheme by MSME Manufacturing Units like Forgings, Foundry, Cycle Parts, Auto Parts, Textile etc.
Prominent Industrialists namely, Sh. S.C Rahlan President FIEO, Sh. Phuman Singh, Sh. Rajnish Bansal, Sh. Jatinder Pal Singh, Sh. S.B Singh, Sh. Shasheesh Saini, Manager, Sh. Rakesh Jindal, and others. This programme was attended by more than 80 industrialists representing various sectors of the industry from different parts of Punjab.
