CICU conducts seminar on Pollution Control with Modern Techniques

Ludhiana, August 14, 2014: Avtar Singh President CICU in a statement released today said that Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings is making strenuous efforts to ensure that not a single drop of effluent goes untreated or discharged in sewerage system by any type of industry in Ludhiana. In this context, they conducted special seminar on “Pollution Control with Modern Techniques” at CICU Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana. They are approaching Punjab Government for grant of permission for the formation of Electroplating Cluster and are hopeful that this new cluster will be developed very soon on the periphery of Ludhiana.
Upkar Singh Ahuja General Secretary CICU said that the main objective of this seminar is to sensitise pollution and create awareness in industry for the dire need to control pollution. He further said that the need of the hour is to conserve water and laid emphasis for preserving water through water management, rain harvesting and recycling of water. CICU is persuading owners of red category industrial units particularly operating in Mix Land Use Areas to scrupulously follow PPCB guidelines and avoid dumping of industrial waste.
Padam Aul, Convener, CICU Pollution Control Committee showed a video starting from Bhudda Nullah till merging of water in Sutlej River. He also showed the techniques of minimizing water for use in electroplating industry and use of latest equipment’s for the same.
CGK Murthy Managing Director Atotech India gave detailed presentation on use of modern techniques, equipment’s and chemicals which are hazardous free and non-polluting for controlling water pollution.
.Javed, DGM, SIDBI informed that our Bank is willing to finance all types of pollution control equipment’s on priority basis. SIDBI is also finding ways and means to provide subsidy on these pollution control equipment’s. S.B Singh Publicity Secretary CICU urged upon Chairman PPCB the need for banning the use of Polythene bags below 40 micron, which are being supplied to Punjab by others states.
Padam Aul, Convener, Atul Mehta Co. Convener, S.B. Singh Coordinator, Japneet Singh, Vishal Kansal, Vikram Kumar, Rama Krishna, Ravi Kumar, Aditya Sayal, Jatinder Pal Singh members of CICU Pollution Control Committee are making all out efforts to analyze and solve various pollution related issues of Ludhiana industry.
Dr.Manjeet Singh SMO Faridkot and Dr. Pritpal Singh President Baba Farid Institute for Special Children Faridkot graced this occasion. Inderjit Nagpal, Vice President, CICU presented vote of thanks to dignitaries on behalf of CICU. Approximately 500 hundred industrialists participated in this event.
