Ludhiana, October 17, 2014: Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana today conducted interaction with European Environment Experts by European Business & Technology Centre to Protect Industrial Pollution at CICU Complex, Focal Point Ludhiana.
Avtar Singh, President CICU requested the renowned experts to share their expertise for use of accurate technology for different types of industries to protect industrial pollution and provide viable solutions in respect of specific issues such as efficient water treatment at individual industrial unit premises and by Common Effluent Treatment Plant, use of hi-tech machinery to eliminate flow of heavy metal contents into Buddha Nullah and other canals, adoption of latest techniques to reduce cost of treatment of effluents, minimising air pollution by brick kiln, foundry and rice mills, eliminating burning of rice husk by its conversion to other products and control of hazardous waste.

Gulshan Rai, Chief Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board assured full cooperation and support for resolving pollution related issues of different categories of industries amicably. 
These experts shall be visiting five industrial units today and tomorrow namely Appu International, New Swan Auto Components, Citizen Press Components, PVLO and Mehta Engineers Limited for providing on the spot specific solutions for controlling pollution. They shall also be visiting CETP functioning at Phase-VIII, Focal Point, Ludhiana to view its progress, significance and contribution in protecting environment for electroplating industries.
This programme was attended by more than 60 key industrialists comprising among others of S.C. Ralhan, Padam Aul, S.B. Singh, G.S. Kahlon, Manmohan Singh Ubhi, Joga Singh, Rajnish Bansal,  Jatinder Paul Singh, Dharam Pal Dhiman, Aanand Kumar, Satya Pal Saini, Amit Mehta, Swarn Singh and others.
