Collaboration to foster long term research in thematic areas of mutual interests

Jalandhar, September 28, 2018: In order to foster long term research in thematic areas of mutual interests, Christian Medical College & Hospital (Ludhiana) India and Lovely Professional University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This MoU is to formalize mutual interactions and strengthen relationship between both the institutions-CMC and LPU. The MoU focuses on joint research, collaborative rural health endeavours, outreach programme, institutional development, capacity building, consultancy services, propagation & promotion of technology for societal benefits, disease diagnostics and more.

On the behalf of CMC, Director Dr William Bhatti, Principal Dr Jeyaraj Pandian, Vice-Principal Dr Ashish Varghese witnessed the signing ceremony; whereas, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal, Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal, Deputy Registrar Manish Gupta and Head R&D Department Dr G Geetha represented LPU.

Expressing happiness on the MoU, representatives of both the top institutions of the country also affirmed that LPU will support CMC in computer-based solutions for problems in handling student data, clinical data and patients’ records. Similarly, CMC is to offer subsidized medical facilities to all employees of LPU.

Highlighting, 124 years back from now, Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, was founded in 1894 as the first medical school for women in Asia. Presently, the hospital provides a wide variety of services, ranging from primary peripheral to super-specialty care. Also, a newly raised outpatient block caters to general and private outpatients.
