Chandigarh, December 3, 2017: The date of the First International Chandigarh Marathon, which is being organized by ‘Sports 13’ in Association with Chandigarh Administration, Sports Department, Chandigarh, Athletic Federation of India, and Chandigarh Athletic Association has been extended to 11th February 2018. The mega marathon was earlier scheduled to be held on December 10, 2017.

"We have taken this decision looking at the cold morning conditions that are prevailing in December which will affect the turnout, particularly of children, in the event. February will be pleasant weather-wise. Another reason is that some National & International level marathoners would not be available on this date." Said Yadvinder Singh, former National Athlete and Director ‘Sports-13’.

The venue of the marathon Capitol Complex & start time of 6 am remain unchanged. An Expo will be held On 7th February & 8th February in which Bib distribution for local participants will take place and another Expo on 9th February will provide for Bib distribution for outsiders. The timings of Expo will be from 10 am till 8 PM and these will be held at Leisure Valley(Near Eiffel Tower), Sec 10, Chandigarh.
