Certification Programme-cum-Capacity Building & awareness workshop on resource efficiency & Cleaner Production

Ludhiana, February 20, 2019: Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) in association with PWC & World Bank, organized Certification Programme-cum-Capacity Building & awareness workshop on resource efficiency & Cleaner Production. Upkar Singh Ahuja, President-CICU, in his welcome speech said that with only energy saving & efficiency we can cut the cost & increase the profit to compete with international market. He also said that, with our combined effort Industry will be most effective to boost the adoption of energy and resource efficient, clean, and lean technologies and solutions at MSMEs in and around Ludhiana. S.B Singh, Joint Secretary- CICU, explain the benefits of energy efficiency with some example & also elaborated the techniques to save energy. They also give Technical presentations, case studies on energy and resource efficient technologies. Balkar Singh, AGM, Energy Conservation, PEDA, preceded as Chief Guest of the program. He also appreciate the work & efforts of CICU done for the development of Industry. Vishal Aggarwal, Energy and Environment Specialist, WB-GEF PMU, BEE, discuss the importance of energy saving in Industry. Bhavesh Swami, Manager – Media, BEE-GEF-World Bank Project, give some example of industry in Ludhiana who already getting the benefits from energy saving techniques. Maganbir Singh, Process Engineer, PSCST were also present in this event. They explain the problems faced by the Industries in energy saving & give solution accordingly. The program was attended by more than 100 prominent industrialists.
