C.B.S.E Basketball Cluster Championship commenced at Gian Jyoti Global School, Phase 2, Mohali.

Mohali, October 4, 2018: Gian Jyoti Global School, Phase 2 hosted the CBSE Basketball Cluster 18th Championship 2018-19 in the category of under 17 & 19 Boys/Girls at its campus in Phase-2, Mohali from 4th October to 7th October 2018. More than 720 participants and 72 teams from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal are participating in this championship.

The event commenced with the hoisting of the flag by the Chief Guest, J.S.Bedi, Chairman, Gian Jyoti Group followed by March Past. Ranjeet Bedi, Principal, Gian Jyoti Global School, presided over the event.

First day results are under 19 boys Lord Mahavir Jain school, Ambala beat N P S School, Kurali by 0-20 points and Paras Pibic school Bhawarana beat Kasuali International school 20-0, under 19 girls Mata sahib Kaur public school beat Chaman Vatika School, Amabla with 0-20 points, In under 17 boys category Dav public school beat Indian public school, amabla with 32-27 points and D A V School Solan beat spring dales school, Shimla with 0-20 points. In same 17 boys category Tagore public school Kasauli beat Dikshant International School, Zirakpur with 42-22 points.

While in girls under 17 category Gurukul Global school beat The scholar’s school 0-20 and Amarvati vidalaya, Panchkula beat Jaypee Vidya Mandir , HP with 12-10 points.

Ranjeet Bedi, Principal, Gian Jyoti Global School while speaking on the occasion said that the idea behind organizing such tournaments in the form of Cluster Championship by CBSE is to enhance and escalate the sports and co-curricular pursuits of the budding talents and also to provide a platform to exchange and collaborate with other students. The Cluster XVIII covers Chandigarh, Mohali, Roopnagar, Panchkula, Ambala and Himachal.
