New Delhi, September 15, 2014:  The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Senior Manager, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Mahul, Mumbai for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000 from the Complainant.

A case was registered against Senior Manager, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), Mahul, Mumbai for demanding bribe of 10% i.e. Rs. 1,00,000/- (approx.) of total Purchase Order for clearing the complainant’s pending bills. The complainant’s firm was awarded an Annual Maintenance Contract of GPS tracing system.  Since December, 2013 the bills were pending.

CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting bribe amount of Rs. 50,000 after negotiation from the complainant. The arrested accused was produced before the competent Court and remanded to Judicial Custody.

In another case, the CBI has arrested a Passport Agent for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.2000 from the Complainant.

A case was registered against Passport Agent and Passport official of Regional Passport Office, Thane for demanding bribe of Rs.2,500 for clearing Passport File of complainant’s mother.

CBI laid a trap and the Passport Agent was caught red handed while demanding & accepting bribe amount of Rs.2,000 after negotiation from the complainant on behalf of an official of Passport Seva Kendra, Thane.

Further investigation is continuing.
