Jalandhar, October 26, 2017: Senior BJP leader Punjab and former Minister Sh.Manoranjan Kalia has said that the announcement of Rs.363.43 Crore for Jalandhar during the visit of Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh after 7 months of coming to power is nothing but re-packaging the centrally sponsored schemes and re-issuing the amount transmitted during Akali-BJP Government under his label.
In a statement here today, he added out of Rs.363.43 Crore, Rs.50 Crore for smart city project and Rs. 190 Crore under AMRUT Scheme pertain to centrally sponsored schemes, the process of which was initiated during Akali-BJP regime. Rs.81 Crore has been given for ongoing works and meeting the liabilities for the completed works. It is pertinent to note that the said ongoing works and completed works were initiated during Akali-BJP Govt. Rs. 42.43 Crore given for new development works are those whose work orders have been issued but could not be started during Akali-BJP regime and have been stopped after Congress government took over the reins.
The visit of Captain Amrinder Singh is an attempt to divert the attention of the Jalandharites from the unkept poll promises before the Municipal Corporation elections.
