Cambridge International School Celebrates Earth Day

Jalandhar, April 22, 2016: In an effort to generate awareness in students towards their planet Earth, Cambridge International School celebrated Earth Day in the school premises on Friday.
Teachers and students were involved in the various activities which were conducted to spread the message that we have ‘one earth …one chance’. The Tiny Tots of the school of Grades I to IV contributed by making compost which exhibited their creativity. They made handmade cutouts and even wrote slogans on it. Students mentioned their heartfelt wishes on them. A Wish Tree was put up in the school premises on which the students displayed their Earth Day wishes. The students of Grades V to VIII showed their scientific knowledge and artistic skills in poster making competition. The students of Grades IX & X showed their English writing skills and scientific knowledge in an Essay writing competition. The school also observed ‘No Vehicle Day ’and ‘Earth Hour’. Minimum use of vehicles was done and electricity was put off for an hour in school campus. A special assembly was conducted, where speech and a role play on energy conservation was showcased which they ended up by singing a melodious parody of the song kolavari….kolavari di. The whole school took pledge to save mother earth.
On this occasion, LWES Chairman Mr. Ajay Bhatia, LWES Deputy Chairman Mr. Deepak Bhatia, LWES Directors Learning Wings Mr. J.K. Kohli, LWESLWES Mr. Nitin Kohli , LWES Chief education officer Ms. Deepa Dogra, LWES Chief Operating Officer Mr Stuart Dennis, Directors of Education LWES Kiranjot Dhillon, Meenu Hurria, Ms Preeti ,.and Principal Mr. Stanley Anthony congratulated the Science Department for organizing this event in a flawless manner and praised the students for exhibiting overwhelming response towards the cause and advised them to follow the same in future so that the next generations can benefit from it.
