Cake mixing ceremony kicks off Christmas celebrations at PCTE
Ludhiana, November 17, 2018: With almost a month left for Christmas and New Year, PCTE Group of Institutes began the celebrations with cake mixing ceremony. PCTE Institute of Hotel Management came up with a healthy way of celebrating it with Cake mixing ceremony without compromising the richness and taste of the Christmas cake. Cake mixing is a ritual done all over the world where dry fruits, nuts, etc are mixed with rum, brandy etc. It was first started in 17th century in Europe. During this time lots of fruits and nuts were harvested and prepared to go into the making of the traditional plum cake. The celebrations witnessed the joy and excitement among students. The chefs of PCTE IHM added morrabas of Indian Gooseberry (Amla) and Stone Apple morrabas with dry fruits and nuts which provides immense health benefits. The other ingredients like raisins, glazed dates, cherries, plums and nuts like cashews, walnuts and almonds were mixed with fresh orange reduction and generous amount of liquor which will be stored in a container until the festive season which will develop the perfect aroma and taste. Prof. Anirban Gupta, Dean, PCTE-IHM said that, the nuts will be soaked in liquor for 20 days and the end product will be worth waiting. This mixture will be used for making Christmas Cakes and other festive edible treats for all our students, faculty and guests. He also appraised the efforts of the students who participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. Dr. K.N.S Kang Director General of the college said, “The Festive Season has finally begun and the students and faculty are in full swing.” He further added “It is important for the students to be familiar with various religion and culture so that they love and respect all the communities and cultures”.
