Jalandhar, January 3, 2019: Doaba College Jalandhar organized 7 day National Faculty Development Programme on Global Trends in Education and Research. Dr Amit Kauts-Head Education Department GNDU graced the occasion as keynote speaker, Dr Deepa Kauts -Education Department GNDU as a resource person, Sh.Chander Mohan-President Arya Shiksha Mandal and College Managing Committee as Chief Guest. The dignitaries were accorded a hearty welcome by Dr Rajan Sharma-Officiating Principal, Dr Avinash Bawa-Organizing Secretary, Prof.Suresh Mago-Coorganizing Secretary,Prof Sandeep Chahal-Staff Secretary, staff and students. 80 teachers cum delegates participated in it. Dr Amit Kauts discussed in detail about quality assurance mechanisms in education research, massive open online courses-mook, use of ICT in teaching and research alongwith innovation in teaching and learning. He emphasized on the need of teachers to understand the psychology of the learners-cum-students which helps in proper transmission of information and knowledge to them through transaction technique. Dr Deepa Kauts highlighted various issues in the filed of higher education in the country and stressed on the relevance of research for a teacher so as to inculcate positive attitude and energy so as to enable a student to become a satisfied and well equipped individual. Sh. Chander Mohan said that in today's technological and digital era learner cum students have to face many social and economical challenges and pressures, therefore it is the duty of a teacher to adopt a role of a true mentor and spend maximum time with the students so that there able to face the global challenges of competitive world successfully.
