CPI Protest against government’s failure to nab killers of Gauri Lankesh
Ludhiana, October 5, 2017: The bullets cannot stop the sane voices said various speakers while addressing a protest rally organized by the Communist Party of India (CPI) at Ludhiana railway station today to protest against the failure of police to nab the killers of Gauri Lankesh in Karnatka on 5th September 2017.
Addressing the protetsors, speakers said Gauri’s killing is a challenge to the basic idea of secularism and democracy which our country stands for. Since the RSS patronized BJP government led by Narendra Modi has come to power the forces of communalism and hatred have been let loose and even provided shelter and patronage by the government. This is part of the conspiracy of this government to establish the agenda of Hindutva. Those who have been speaking for the defense of the basic tenets of our constitution i.e secularism, democracy and equality are dubbed as anti nationals and are then being eliminated in a planned manner. Starting from the murder of Dabolkar, Pansare and Kalburgi, such goons want to silence the voice of truth. Minorities and dalits are being persecuted. Worse is that such killings are eulogized in one form or the other. Having failed to meet any promise done to the people in 2014, the structure around Modi are creating non issues like Gau Raksha, use of cow urine, Ram Mandir and even creating jingoism to divert the attention of the people. But India has a long cherished history of united freedom movement by all sections of the society. The people have now understood their designs and will thwart their machinations. No wonder the RSS and its outfits not only did not have any role in the freedom movement but connived with the British even got the freedom fighters arrested.
The rally demanded immediate arrest of the culprits who must be given exemplary punishment.
Those who addressed the rally include Dr Arun Mitra, D P Maur, Ramesh Rattan, Gurnam Sidhu, Chamkaur singh, Kuldeep Singh Binder, Vijay Kumar, Gurnam gill, Kewal Singh Banwait, Anod, Vharandas, Suraj Kumar, Md. Shafiq.
