BSF recovers Rs.20 Cr heroin

Ferozepur, October 13, 2012: Border Security Force, Ferozepur claim to have arrested two Indian smugglers and recovered heroin, pistol and cartridges recovered from them.

Giving this information, KPS Rana, DIG (Retd. Brig.) informed, BSF 80 Battalion under the supervision of Madan Lal, Commanding Officer at Indo-Pak border intensified the patrolling and search movement, arrested two Indian smugglers and recovered 4 Kg. heroin, one Pakistani made pistol and 12 cartridges from their possession. 

He said, the recovered heroin has been sent by the Pakistani smugglers.  The arrested smugglers are the resident of Mehndipur area, who cultivate the land ahead the fencing at Indo-Pak border  at BOP, MP base and when they were trying to clear the consignment after finishing their work in the fields.  On seeing their activities of suspicious nature, BSF 80 Bn jawans took them alongwith and on search, recovered heroin, pistol and cartridges.

The cost of recovered heroin, in the international market is about Rs.20 crores, he added.
