Amritsar, February 11, 2015: Dr.Vandana Bhalla, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry of Guru Nanak Dev University was awarded Bronze Medal by Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI), Bangalore, for the year 2014-2015 for her contribution in the field of chemistry.

The award was presented by Dr.Sourav Pal, Director, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune and President, Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) at the 17th annual general body meeting of the society held at National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) Pune on February 7, 2015.

Dr. Vandana also delivered a bronze medal lecture entitled “Aggregation Induced Emission Enhancement Materials: Self-Assembly and Sensing Applications” in the symposium.

Dr. Vandana Bhalla has also been invited to deliver a lecture at 2nd International Symposium on Aggregation Induced Emission being held at South China University of Technology during May, 15-18, 2015 in Guangzhou, China.

Dr. Vandana Bhalla joined the university in 2006 and has published 123 research papers in international journals of repute. Her area of research is supramolecular chemistry. She has got research grants of more than Rs.1.10 crore from different funding agencies since 2006.  She is a mentor of DST-INSPIRE programme.
