Bhupinder Singh Mann Urges PM Modi to treat nation wide farmers' suicides as a "National Calamity"
Chandigarh, April 5, 2017: S.Bhupinder Singh Mann, Ex MP, Chairman All India Kisan Coordination Committee (KCC) today welcomed the loan waiver announced by UP Chief Minister Sh.Yogi Adityanath.

He said that this waiver will definitely give some relief to the farmers in distress. However S.Mann said that this loan waiver of Rs 1 lakh will be a just a temporary relief for the farmers and lot needs to be done for the class which feeds the nation.

S.Mann reminded Yogi that he had promised full waiver of loan of farmers and his poll promise did not contain proviso.

The Chairman of the All India farmers body demanded from the PM Modi that the farmers of the entire Nation are highly in distress and need relief immediately.

The massive suicides by farmers should be treated as "National Calamity" and PM should use his discretionary funds to bail out the farmers. He reminded Modi that three times a day, you use the services of a farmer, yet no one thinks sincerely of the farmer.

S.Mann said that the debt reliefs are very temporary measures; just like giving a pain killer to a cancer patient. The solution lies in giving adequate prices for the crops as recommended by Dr Swaminathan. Although Modi had promised to implement this in his Manifesto, he has backed out from his promise.

Referring to debt waiver promised by Capt Amarinder Singh, he said that farmers of Punjab have voted for Capt Amarinder Singh led Congress keeping in view his promises and his past performance. He hoped that Capt Amarinder Singh will waiver off loans of farmers at the earliest.
