Banking on benchmarking makes sense

New Delhi, March 10, 2016: Banking clerical job-aspirants in the country never had it so good. With the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) yesterday deciding to do away with interview sessions for CWE Clerks-V, they feel much relieved. This means that from this year 100% weight-age would be given to the score obtained by a candidate in the online main examination.
As per the notification by the IBPS, interviews will not be conducted for those candidates who have qualified for the CWE Clerks-V 2015 Main examination. A candidate should qualify in the main examination and be sufficiently high in merit to be shortlisted for provisional allotment based on the reported vacancies by the participating organizations.
Also, with the interview burden off their minds, students can concentrate better on the online preparation comprising practice tests and analytics being provided by few websites. Top on their minds is www.TCYonline.com, the pioneers in online tests for Banking, MBA, Railways and other such exams.
This portal offers a student a range of tests, notes, and most importantly, true assessment not only through all-India benchmarking but also by further segregating their performance comparisons based on their states, regions, educational qualifications and many other parameters.
“We cater to over 50,000 banking students every year who bank on us for mock tests, analytics and thereby provide national benchmarking which no other website matches,” according to Mr. Kamal Wadhera, CEO of TCY, an education assessment company. TCYonline is the online initiative of TCY.
Till now the IBPS has been adopting a 80-20 principle for the final selection, wherein 80% weight-age was given to the score in the online test and 20% to the interviews but for the coming exam merit list will rule supreme. So, in a way short-listing will be a conditional affair.
“A candidate now needs to have the power to determine his potion and performance nationally and regionally to excel in the exam.” Mr. Wadhera opined.
It is worth mentioning that each year lakhs of candidates sit for this exam with a dream of starting a career in the Indian banking sector. This test prep company takes pride in helping more than 2.4 lakh students achieve their dream jobs.
From now on the test would be conducted only in two phases - A preliminary exam, which will be a one-hour test aimed at testing the general aptitude of a candidate. The main exam - a two-hour test - is for general awareness, knowledge of banking and finance in India in addition to general aptitude.
