Severest Of Severe Punishment Would Be Given To The Guilty

Chandigarh, April 30, 2015: The Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said here today that the strictest action would be taken under relevant provisions of law against the guilty in the Moga Bus incident.

The Chief Minister described the incident as "deeply shocking" and said that he had been very deeply pained by it. "It is a serious aberration in an overall atmosphere peace. But we treat it with utmost seriousness and the government means business. The guilty will be brought to book," said the Chief Minister.

Talking to media persons at his residence here this morning, Badal said that the police had already registered a case under section 302 (Murder), 307 (Attempt to Murder), 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code and Section 3 of SC/ST Act and arrested two of the accused Sukwinder Singh, Conductor and Gurdeep Singh, Helper in the matter. He said the remaining accused would also be brought under the ambit of justice and no one will be allowed to escape the long arm of law.
