Asian Development Bank to aid 42.61 crore for development in Dharamshala

Dharamshala, January 24, 2017: A Tulip Garden shall be developed in Tapovan near the Vidhan Sabha Complex in Dharamshala on the lines of a Tulip garden near Srinagar. The project was initiated by Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma after Dharamshala was included in the list of the Smart Cities of India. Sh Chander Parkash Verma Deputy Commissioner at Dharamshala said that Asian Development Bank is now backing the project with rs six crore, to be developed by department of tourism, Himachal Pradesh.

Speaking to media at Dharamshala on Monday Verma said, "Besides this, the Asian Development Bank is also financing other projects totaling a worth of Rs 42.61 crore for conserving prominent temple precincts and upgrading urban infrastructure for tourism in Dharamshala/ Mecleodganj.”

Elaborating the project DC said that rs 4.5 crore shall be spent on Dhauladhar convention centre, Rs 4.21 crore on Bhagsu Temple complex, rs 6.31 crore on Aghanzar Temple Complex, rs 3 crore on Bhagsu Cultural Centre, Rs 1.44 crore on D C Office parking and shopping complex and so on . He said that rs 13 crore shall be spent on development of Chowks and Plazas, Viewing Decks, Compound walls, electric works etc in the city.

DC said that the entire work shall be completed by 10 sept 1918.
