Ludhiana: Eyes Super Specialty hospital chain ASG, having larger presence in North and North-East India, has opened its first branch in Ludhiana recently. The ASG group has 26 branches in 13 states and 21 cities across India. These include Rajasthan (6 branches), Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Orissa, Gujarat, Punjab, and Maharashtra. The ASG Eye Hospital chain is being managed by experienced, former surgeons of AIIMS, New Delhi.
According to Dr.Ajoy Singh Virdhi, Dr.Vikas Jain. Dr.Jayendra Ailawadhi and Dr.Dev Yadav said that The ASG chain was launched by AIIMS’ experienced doctors – Dr. Arun Singhvi and Dr. Shashank Gang in 2005. Later, other scholar doctors joined the hospital which soon resulted into rapidly growing ASG Eye Hospitals’ chain, which is constantly providing eye care treatment at par with AIIMS, New Delhi, across India. It is a great pleasure that now Ludhiana will also have eye care facilities at par with AIIMS.
The main objective of setting up the ASG Group of Eye Hospitals is to provide everyone with the world's best ophthalmic facilities and remedies cutting across the economical, social and knowledge disparities, and for this reason, to create an organization experienced doctors whose knowledge and experience are better than the best. This is the first branch of the ASG Eye hospital in Punjab. All eye-related diseases complicated or otherwise will be diagnosed and treated under one roof in this super specialty eye hospital. Services such as Cataracts (Phaco), Lasik, Vitreo-Retina, Occuloplasty, Cornea, Squint, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-Ophthalmology and others are available in this hospital. It is important to mention that the hospital will be functioning on 24x7 basis throughout the week and will also be providing emergency eye treatment 24x7, so Ludhiana residents can get eye treatment even on a Sunday.
Dr. Vikas said that for all kinds of cataracts, the treatment would be with a foldable lens through the advanced phaco system and there would be no need for injection, stitches or bandage around the eye. Our experts are skilled and experienced in operating complex cases like ripe cataracts, small pupil cataracts and stoney hard cataracts.
Dr. Ajoy said that thanks to the advanced technology of Q-LASIK, patients can be spectacle free with an operation that would last for a few minutes only, the results of which have been the best in the whole world. This would be done at our hospital with the latest Visx Star Excimer Laser and iDesign system by AMO, the first in Punjab and the whole of India. We also have the facility of ICLs and Bioptics for those patients in whom Q-LASIK is not possible. Dr. Jayendra said that stitch-less 25G and 27G vitrectomy operation would be provided for diseases of the retina. It is essential to get the retina of Diabetic and Hypertensive patients checked. Anti-VEGF and Ozurdex injections are available for the patients suffering from bleeding in retina. It is also essential to inspect the retina of the premature born babies because such babies can develop blindness if a proper diagnosis and treatment of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) is not done. Uveitis and Choroiditis which are difficult to diagnose and treat are also taken care of with latest medicines.
Dr. Dev said that it is very essential to get the eyes of small children checked because ignoring vision problems, problems of deviated eyes and lazy eyes can get exaggerated with time. Treatment in such cases later in life is very difficult. He also added that the treatment for such patients who are suffering from a long period is now possible with medications and operations. ASG Eye Hospital has always been a leading provider of treatment for poor and needy patients by organizing camps for them. And for this reason, ASG Eye Hospitals is honored with International Achievers Award (2009), Wellness Health Award (2010) for its outstanding services, Rajiv Gandhi Gold Medal Award (2010), and the Young Entrepreneur Award (2014). Internationally, a branch of ASG Eye Hospital has been successfully operating in East Uganda's Kampala in East Africa for the last one and a half years and provides excellent Eye Care services to the residents, for whom the medical service is very rare. Another international hospital will be started in Kathmandu in Nepal in the near future. Our heartiest congratulations to residents of Ludhiana for setting up such a well-equipped super-specialty hospital here.
