Dakha (Ludhiana), March 31, 2015: The Annual Prize Distribution Function of G.T.B.National College, Dakha was organised today in the Auditorium of the college. The function began with a rendition of Shabad by the college students. Principal Dr Guriqbal Singh welcomed the Chief Guest Charanjit Singh Atwal, Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha and read the Annual report wherein he dwelt on the achievements of the college in academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
In his presidential address Charanjit Singh Atwal explained the value of education and advised the students to work hard to make their parents proud. He also spoke on the importance of the mother tongue. The Chief Guest announced a grant of Rs 5 Lakh from his discretionary quota.
As many as 150 students were honoured on the occasion. The award of college colour was given to 8 students namely Manjot Singh, Amar Singh, Gurinder Singh, Paramveer Singh, Harpal Singh, Rajveer Kaur, Amarinder Kaur and Manpreet Chawla. Best athletes Gurjeet Kaur, Dungarpratap Singh and Ranjodh Singh were also awarded. College toppers were given Capt. Jagir Singh memorial trophies.
College President Anand Saroop Singh Mohie, Secretary Dr Harbans Singh, Harbir Singh Ayali and other guests graced the occasion.
