All public sector banks in Himachal to go on strike on Nov 12: UFBU

Dharamshala, November 11, 2014: The employees of the public sector banks are observing one day strike on November 12, to press their long pending demand for the amendment of the existing pay scales. The new pay scales are due for the last two years and the all the meetings conducted by the previous and the present central governments have failed to reach any common point, resulting a days of the work by the bankers.

This strike is also being observed by this sector in Himachal Pradesh too. Giving more information about this strike, bank employee leaders Naresh Puri and R K Goutam said,” The strike is being observed under the banner of United Forum of the Bank Union UFBU. The union is demanding 25% rise in the salaries of the Bankers, where as Indian Banking org is stick to only 11% of this increase.”

Bank leaders said that if the government does not co operate with them to fulfill their genuine demand, then the zonal level strikes will be observed from December 2 to 5 this year followed by the indefinite strike. 

J P Verma and R S Rana, the leaders of the PNB (a lead bank) said , “This time bankers will fight for their genuine cause till it is being met with .”
